Piper Epstein
Piper is a biology major with a double minor in computer science and computational biology and bioinformatics at Duke University (class of 2025). She joined the David Lab in 2022, which makes her the lab’s longest tenured undergraduate. Piper has contributed towards the lab’s metabarcoding method (FoodSeq) by studying the DNA content of food items from Duke University Hospital, sequencing dietary seafood, and testing the efficacy of primers for use in PCR amplification. In her spare time, she enjoys playing frisbee, photography, reading, and hanging out with her sister’s dog.
