Sharon Jiang

In addition to her role as a research analyst at the David Lab, Sharon also serves as the de facto lab manager. Currently the longest tenured team member, she first joined the lab as a technician in 2017. She holds an M.S. in Environmental Sciences and Engineering and a B.S.P.H. in Environmental Health from the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health. Under the direction of Dr. Jill Stewart, Sharon studied the potential contribution of lysogenic phages in coliphage enumeration methods in the context of wastewater.

At the David Lab, she provides administrative and wet lab support for all projects, predominantly for dietary plant metabarcoding (FoodSeq). She is a big fan of the local library, bird identification, and cats.
